Caledonian Taekwondo aligns with Long Term Athlete Development by using stage-based progression (belt system), providing age-appropriate training, focusing on long-term development, promoting holistic skills such as discipline and confidence, and allowing individuals to progress based on ability rather than just age.

Tot kwon do is our taekwondo program for pre-school children aged 3 and above. Classes focus on many components of fitness including.
Tot Kwon Do – Movement – Agility – Balance – Co ordination – Flexibility
But equally important to a developing child is social interaction. Tot kwon do encourages co-operation and communications with other children through play based learning.

Our program for children who have advanced to green belt/blue tags is designed to bring together what they have learned up to green belt.
The first 5 grades are spent developing the fundamentals of movement. Progressing to taekwondo basics then onwards to sequential movement and combinations.
The advanced class then brings this together to learn to apply the movements either for self-defence, sport and fun. These classes are technically and physically more difficult.

We meet three times a week where those aged 13+ have the additional option of joining the competition programme or attending our barbell or bootcamp classes. Gym membership is included in the price where participants are aged 16 and above.

We meet three times per week with sessions designed to help those with competition ambitions.
