Children under 8 years of age do not need to perform the Taegeuks 1 to Taegeuk 4 for their grading.  They will be judged on their technical ability and understanding of the other elemets of grading syllabus.

However, children under the age of 8 wishing to be promoted to blue tags (5th Kup) will need to be able to perform Taegeuk 3 as well as the previous patterns.

51% of the grading mark will be based patterns from red belt (2nd kup)& above
